FAQs for On-Line Learning

Is this course approved for my state?

All courses are offered under Marti Smith Seminars, Inc, which is an AOTA Approved provider. Due to the content of the courses, they will differ on which states we have attained extra approval. For example, we did not seek approval for the Handwriting course with Physical Therapy boards. If you have questions about your specific requirements, please see the individual course listings which can be linked via the "Workshops" button on the top menu bar. The individual course state approvals are listed at the bottom for each individual course.

How do I begin my course?

You should have received two emails when you registered. One is a receipt of payment and the other contains a username and temporary password. The first time you log on, you will be asked to change your password. You should then see the listing of courses that you are registered for. If you do not see this second email, please check your spam folder for an email from our registration account.

When must my on-line learning begin?

Learners will have one year from the date of purchase to begin the course on-line.

How long do I have to complete the on-line course?

Learners will have 10 days from the time they begin to complete the learning objectives. Objectives include the hours for the video series plus the exam at the end. For example, if you begin the course on Feb 15, 2015 you should have the course completed by Feb 25, 2015. If you begin on June 8, 2014, you should have the objectives completed by June 18, 2014. Simply logging on to the learning site will not begin your time. Beginning the course will start the ten day period for completion.

Do I have to do the entire course at once?

No. You may start and stop as your schedule allows within the 10 day time period. Our system will track your progress and you will start right where you left off.

Can I go back and view previous material?

Yes. You may jump back but not forward within the 10 day viewing period.

Will I receive a course manual?

Yes, there will be a resource area within the learning site that will allow you to download the manual in .pdf format. This will be downloaded to your learning medium to be accessed and saved or printed at your convenience.

Is the on-line learning supported with the iPad?

Yes. The iPhone has a very small screen and is not recommended for viewing.

How soon will I receive my certificate of completion?

Certificates are ready for download immediately upon completion of the course. However, it is not recommended to wait until the last day before your certification.

I'm having difficulty with my connection, what can I do?

Internet Explorer versions before 10 may be incompatible with our third party vendor. We recommend using, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to view our on-line courses.

The course was working fine and now it's really slow. What happened?

Depending on your internet provider, you might find that your connection is slower on weekend evenings and holidays, especially between 7-11 pm. This is because many of your neighbors are also using their internet. For this reason, it is not recommended to save your learning for peak times when you have a tight deadline.

What are your hours of operation?

We do our best to return emails in a timely manner. If you have an urgent need, please state so in the subject line and we will give those priority. Most non-urgent correspondence occurs on Mondays and Wednesdays.
